Watan Dorokhshan Mining Company, obtained a license from AISAR Administration 0-8190-1101 0 in 1385 as a limited liability company, and on 12 Nov 2006, based on passing the legal tendering process for Sabzak Coal Mine in Herat, it entered into a long-term contract with the Ministry of Mines of Afghanistan. Later, in 2021, based on a legal process, the contract of Sabzak coal mine with the Ministry of Mines of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was renewed for five years under new conditions.

Watan Dorokhshan Mining Company was the only private sector company in Afghanistan that, after signing the Sabzak mine contract, investigated, explored and confirmed the mineral reserves – this company, by purchasing an equipped drilling machine made in America, spare tools, and modern equipment at a huge cost, was able to complete all the stages of exploration with drilling and sampling operations done by a team of trained specialists.

And shared all the documents of drilling, sampling, measurement and different stages with the geological survey officials and experts of the Ministry of Mines, and it was confirmed by the Ministry of Mines that the documents and records of the investigation, discovery and confirmation of the mine reserves have been registered in the archives of the Ministry of Mines. Currently, the company has technical staff and sufficient experience and active equipment is willing to cooperate with government and private institutions in the mining survey and inspection sector. During its activity, this company is under the supervision of the officials and authorities of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum – the local authorities of Herat and the people of the region – the Ministry of Finance – the Department of Environment and Tourism, with good faith and good intentions. It has fulfilled its commitments to the government and people and has always been appreciated by people and customers – and official authorities.
